Cracks on the dash trim

I recently picked up a 2019 Malibu with about 28,000 miles on it. It was used and came from Colorado, so not exactly a high-heat state. But I noticed some weird cracking and fading on the dash trim near the center console and it's almost like it's dried out or had something spilled on it.

The dealer said it's just normal wear, but I'm not convinced. It looks too uniform, and I'm wondering if it could be a cleaning chemical issue or maybe a defect in the material? Has anyone seen this before? Are there any good products to restore the finish without replacing the whole panel?
