I've been having this knocking sound whenever I am driving slowly or in reverse, so mysolution was to replace almost everything! The one thing I didn't replace? The rear knuckles After I changed these into new sets OEM and the issue is suddenly gone from my Malibu. Back to being Malibu Barbie. Thismight solve your problem if you've been having the same issue *wink

You did good! rear knuckles can really cause some knocking sounds. kudos for finding the issue im sure this can be helpful to anyone who has the same problem. Well done barbie. *wink :)

hmmmm, really helpful, hopefully we can refer to this in the event someone has a similar issue, thanks @legally.blonde , I love when people share helpful stuff, not just problems always.

Way to go Malibu Barbie! but for those of us still chasing down these weird knocking sounds, could it be that we are overlooking these rear knuckles? Just curious if replacing them is the common fix. Tnx!

the secret to a quiet Malibu is new rear knuckles? Who knew! haha
So, if someone has a similar knock, rear knuckles should be on the checklist? I'm curious, what were the symptoms like exactly?

Oh yeah, rear knuckles aren't the first thing you'd think of, but they can cause some weird clunking and noises in the suspension. It's a good idea to remember that when you're trying to quiet things down.
