Poor fuel economy on my 2018 Malibu Hybrid normal or a problem

I could really use your help with something. I've been averaging about 7 to 8 Liters / 100km on my 2018 Malibu Hybrid, and honestly, that feels a bit steep for a hybrid, don't you think? I'm starting to wonder if I'm overlooking something, or if this is just how it is for this car.

I'd love to know what kind of numbers you're getting and if there are any tweaks or checks I should consider. Thanks so much in advance!

Yeah, that seems a bit on the high side for a Malibu hybrid. I see mine more in the 5-6 L/100km range, which feels more in line with what you'd expect from a hybrid. I think a few things you can check would be your tire pressure, air filter, and how aggressively you're accelerating. Are you also doing mostly short trips or a lot of stop-and-go city driving? Hybrids typically get their best numbers on more consistent, longer drives.

7 to 8 L/100km does seem a bit high for a hybrid, have you checked tire pressure, driving habits, or if the battery's charging properly? What numbers are others seeing?
