Can’t browse 2024 Malibu infotainment

My mom rented a 2024 Chevy Malibu last week, and I think the car is quite funny.
We couldn't browse the SXM or a USB while driving bcs it grayed out and said that I couldn't be moving to browse.
Okay, I get it, it's probably about safety, but it sucks
the voice command is passtrough phone only, but I can't even tell it to play the songs or album I want.
but we can use the steering wheel and infotainment buttons to move one song at a time.
It's silly bcs there are 200 stations and 3000 songs on my USB. tell me, internet people, what is going on here?

Yep, definitely it's the safety feature in the infotainment system that limits browsing when the car is moving.

ikr, it doesn't matter tho, we've returned it already lol

It's probably because the infotainment system locks out motion, which is coded to block interface access while you're driving. Annoying, but it's a part of the software

I totally get that. It can be really annoying. Whether it's a safety feature or not, it often feels like it just gets in the way instead of actually being helpful when you're trying to get around.
