My dad gave me his 2017 Malibu LS. He's good at taking care of his vehicles so it's all good. However, I'm thinking of disabling the auto start/stop. My friend has an LT and he has a button to turn it off. Mine looks like it's missing? Is there any way to get a physical button installed? What are my options? I'd appreciate any insights!

I think the lower trims didn't come with a button, so you'll need to think aftermarket. There are some clean solutions, they usually call them eliminators, that disable the feature entirely and you live on with your life. There is some installation involved, but it's not too terrible and the best part is that they're pretty cheap. If you're willing to pay more and have a cleaner setup, meaning no installation, you can take it to a shop that does engine tuning and remap to have the feature completely turned off. In both cases you shouldn't have any cels or problems with the car.

Yeah, I agree with @watchbearer11! Unfortunately, there's no easy or officially supported way to just add the button that the LT has. The wiring and software are different, so it's not a simple plug-and-play swap. I'd also suggest that you check out aftermarket options for AutoStop eliminator or Start/Sop disabler. These are usually plug-and-play modules that you install behind the glove box or center console. They work by remembering your last setting and automatically disabling the feature every time you start the car.
